This time we´re going to work with town places and the way to describe what there is in your city.

Esta vez vamos a trabajar con los lugares en la ciudad y la manera de describir lo que hay en la tuya.

Expressing existence THERE IS-THERE ARE

Cuando queremos contar lo que hay en una ciudad o cualquier otro lugar podemos usar THERE IS si es singular o THERE ARE si es plural. Tené en cuenta que podés usar las abreviaturas que son lo mismo:

THERE IS=THERE´S

THERE ARE=THERE´RE.

Example:

THERE IS a cinema in Avellaneda (hay un cine en Avellaneda)

THERE´S a cinema in Avellaneda

THERE ARE banks in Lanús (bankS in plural) (hay bancos en Avellaneda)

THERE´RE banks in lanús.

1) Match the places with the names: (uní los lugares con los nombres)

2)Look at the picture and write sentences about what there is in the city

Mirá el dibujo y contáme lo que hay en ese barrio como el ejemplo que te doy.

1) There is a restaurant in my town o There´s a restaurant in my town.

Esta vez vamos a trabajar con los lugares en la ciudad y la manera de describir lo que hay y no hay en la tuya.

THERE AREN´T restaurants

Para contar lo que NO HAY podemos decir there is not o there isn´t (cualquiera está bien)para el singular y there are not o there aren´t para el plural.

2-Look at the map of the city and write 5 sentences with what there isn´t-aren´t

Mira el mapa de la ciudad y contame en 5 oraciones lo que no hay. Fijáte en las palabras que te doy.

Example:

Train station- There isn´t a train station in my town.

Cinemas- There aren´t cinemas in my town.
